Remember Our Heroes
Army Spc. Gary L. Nelson III, 20, of Woodstock, Ga.
Spc Nelson was assigned to 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.; died April 5, 2011 in Mosul, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a non-combat incident.
Nelson attended Woodstock High School and entered the service in June 2008. This was his first deployment.
Spc Nelson's death is under investigation.
He leaves his parents, Gary Lee Jr and Dawn Renee Nelson, a sister, Kristina, and his mentor, best friend, Sgt Oliver Dixon.
Army Spc. Gary L. Nelson III was died in a non-combat incident on 4/5/11.
